Drilling through the cranium -hows it done?

In the below image we can see the brain has been excised for inspection. The bones cut at the mastoid process being the ears and the scalp reflected. This is possible due to the aponeurosis layer which is a large tendon that sits under the skin and makes up part of the scalp.


The cranial cavity has a capacity of 1.5 litres and holds the brain at inter-cranial pressure of 7-15mmHg.
